PRELUDE:  (Instrumental)

Klaus Mueller - Musical Director/Organist

Walter Williams - Drummer

OPENING HYMN."Onward, Christian soldiers1. Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus
going on before.
Christ, the royal master,
leads against the foe;
forward into battle
see his banners go!

Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus
going on before.

2. Like a mighty army
moves the Church of God;
brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod.
We are not divided,
all one body we,
one in hope and doctrine,
one in charity.

Onward, Christian soldiers,

marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus
going on before.

3. Crowns and thrones may perish,
kingdoms rise and wane,
but the Church of Jesus
constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never
'gainst that Church prevail;
we have Christ's own promise,
and that cannot fail.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus
going on before.

4. Onward, then, ye faithful,
join our happy throng,
blend with ours your voices
in the triumph song:
Glory, laud, and honor
unto Christ the King;
this through countless ages
saints and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus
going on before

OPENING PRAYER:.........

............................Rev. George Abosi

CALL TO WORSHIP: ...........(Psalm 85)

Leader: Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.

People: Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down
from the sky.

Leader: The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.

People: Righteousness will go before the Lord and make a path for God’s steps.

Leader: Let us worship God!

ALL: We here at UHPC have come to

worship God!

HYMN 1:.."Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise"

PRAYER FOR CONFESSION:. (In Unison)

Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide from you,
for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves and turned from our neighbors.
We have refused to bear the troubles of others. We have ignored the pain of the world,
and passed by the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed. O God, in your great mercy
forgive our sin and free us from selfishness, that we may choose your will and obey
your commandments, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

LITHANY OF ASSURANCE:

Leader: In Christ the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to
fullness of life in Christ.

People: As therefore you received Christ Jesus, abound in thanksgiving.

Leader: You were buried with Christ in baptism and were raised with Christ through faith in the working of God.

People: As therefore you received Christ Jesus, abound in thanksgiving.

Leader: You, who were dead in trespasses, God made alive together with Christ, having
forgiven us all our trespasses.

People: As therefore you received Christ Jesus, abound in thanksgiving.

Leader: God disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public example ofthem, triumphing over them in Christ.

People: As therefore you received Christ Jesus, abound in thanksgiving.

Leader: Beloved, because of Jesus Christ we can rest assured that we are forgiven.

ALL: Amen.

GLORIA PATRI: .......................(In Unison)

Glory be to Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen. .

PASSING THE PEACE:

Leader: Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another. The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.

People: And peace be with you also.

   “I’VE GOT PEACE LIKE A RIVER”.

I've got PEACE like a river (3Xs) in my soul - repeat

I've got JOY like a fountain(3Xs) in my soul - repeat

CLOSING HYMN:.."Stand Up for Jesus"

1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus

ye soldiers of the cross;

lift high his royal banner,

it must not suffer loss.

From vict'ry unto vict'ry

his army he shall lead

till ev'ry foe is vanquished

and Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,

the trumpet call obey;

forth to the mighty conflict

in this his glorious day.

Ye that are men now serve him

against unnumbered foes;

let courage rise with danger

and strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,

stand in his strength alone;

the arm of flesh will fail you,

ye dare not trust your own.

Put on the gospel armor,

each piece put on with prayer;

where duty calls or danger,

be never wanting there.

4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,

the strife will not be long;

this day the noise of battle,

the next, the victor's song.

To him that overcometh

a crown of life shall be;

he with the King of glory

shall reign eternally.

HYMN 1:.."Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise"

1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,

In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,

Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,

Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,

Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;

Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above

Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

3. To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;

In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;

We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,

And wither and perish; but naught changeth Thee.

4. Thou reignest in glory, Thou rulest in light,

Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;

All praise we would render; O help us to see

'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee!

--------------------------------------------------------

HYMN 2:."We’re Marching to Zion"

Come, ye that love the Lord,

And let your joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne,
And thus surround the throne.

We’re marching to Zion,

Beautiful, beautiful, Zion:
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.

Let those refuse to sing
Who never knew our God:
But children of the heav’nly King,
But children of the heav’nly King
Shall speak their joys abroad,
Shall speak their joys abroad.

We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful, Zion:
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.

The hill of Zion yields
A thousand sacred sweets;
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Or walk the golden streets,
Or walk the golden streets.

We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful, Zion:
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.

Then let our songs abound,
And ev’ry tear be dry;
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground,
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground
To fairer worlds on high,
To fairer worlds on high.

We’re marching to Zion,

Beautiful, beautiful, Zion:
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.
