ADVENT LIGHTING OF THE
CANDLE OF PEACE:
................................... "Philippines 4: 6 -7"
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
OPENING PRAYER:.....
.......................Rev. Lonnie Bryant
CALL TO WORSHIP:....,
Leader: Come! Listen voice cries out in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
People: We Come and we wait in the Just peace of the coming Messiah
Leader: Pay attention! God is removing barriers and leveling the playing field, making a way for all people to witness the glory of the Lord.
People: We wait, and we work as God's landscape, filling in valley's and making enough places plain, bringing Justice where conflict and obstacles once reigned.
Leader: Let us worship God!
ALL: We here at UHPC have come to
worship God!
HYMN 1:.."Angels We Have Heard On High"
PRAYER FOR CONFESSION:. (In Unison)
Gracious God, have mercy upon us as we make our confession. We question your judgment when your will conflicts with our own. We are reluctant to follow the course you prescribe. Our patience grows thin when you intrude in our life’s journey, causing us to veer from the path we pursue. We seek to be faithful and obey your directions, but our own desires delay us in fulfilling your will. Have mercy upon us and deliver us from self-deception. Amen
ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
Leader: Here the good news! Paul assures us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, and intercedes for us according to God’s will. In Jesus Christ, God calls us, and God conforms us to Christ, so that in him we receive the promise of new life. As we dwell in the Spirit let us also rest assured in the promise. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
GLORIA PATRI: .......................(In Unison)
Glory be to Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
PASSING THE PEACE:
Leader: Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another. The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.
People: And peace be with you also.
“ I’VE GOT PEACE LIKE RIVER”.
I've got PEACE like a river (3Xs) in my soul - repeat
I've got JOY like a fountain(3Xs) in my soul - repeat
I've got LOVE like an ocean(3Xs) in my soul- repeat

2. Let us drink wine together on our knees; (on our knees;) Let us drink wine together on our knees. (on our knees.) When I fall on my knees, With my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. (on me.)
3. Let us praise God together on our knees; (on our knees;) Let us praise God together on our knees. (on our knees.) When I fall on my knees, With my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy (on me.)
COMMUNION PRAYER:
Friends: This is the joyful feast of the people of God! People will come from east and, west and from north and south and sit at table in the kingdom of God. This is the Lord's Table. Our Savior invites those who trust him to share the feast which he has prepared.
P: The Lord be with you.
C: And also with you.
P: Lift up your hearts!
C: We lift them up to the Lord.
P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
C: For it is holy and right to do so.
P: Holy and right it is, and our joyful duty to give thanks to you at all times and in all places, O Lord our Creator, almighty and everlasting God! You created Heaven with all its hosts and the earth with all its plenty. You have given us Life and being and preserved us by your providence. But you have shown us the fullness of your love in sending into the world your Son, Jesus Christ, the eternal Word made flesh for us and for our salvation. For the precious gift of this mighty Savior who has reconciled us to you, we praise and bless you, O God. With your whole Church on earth and with all the company of heaven, we worship and adore your glorious name. Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God Almighty. Your ways are just and true. With people of faith, from all times and places, we lift our hearts in joyful praise, for you alone are holy.
All: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts!
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!
P: Most righteous God, we remember in this Supper the perfect sacrifice offered once on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ for the sin of the whole world. In the joy of his resurrection and in expectation of his coming again, we offer ourselves to you as holy and living sacrifices. Together we proclaim the mystery of the faith:
All: Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again.
P: Holy Father, we thank you for your Son, Jesus, who lived with us sharing joy and sorrow. He told your story, healed the sick, and was a friend of sinners. Obeying you, he took up his cross and was murdered by men and women he loved. We praise you that he is not dead but is risen to rule the' world; and that he is still the friend of sinners. We trust him to overcome every power to hurt or divide us, so that, when you bring in your promised Kingdom, we will celebrate victory with him.
Remembering the Lord Jesus, we break bread and share one cup, announcing his death for the sins of the world, and telling of his resurrection to all people and nations.
P: At this time brothers and sisters, please lift your bread or crackers as I continue: The Lord Jesus, on the night of his arrest, took bread and after giving thanks to God, broke it and said; "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." Ministering in his name, I offer this bread to you. In the same way, he took the cup after supper, and said: "This cup is the new covenant sealed in my blood, whenever you drink it, do this, remembering me." Ministering in his name, I offer this cup to you. Every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.
P: Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry; he who believes in me shall never thirst." Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches. Cut off from me you can do nothing." The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Let the Church say, Amen.
P: Bless the Lord O my soul;
C: And all that is within me, bless His Holy name!
UNISON: Alleluia! For the Lord our God - The
Almighty has come into His Kingdom! Let us rejoice, let us be glad with all our hearts. Let us give Him the glory for ever and ever. Amen!

HYMN 1:.."Angels We Have Heard
On High”
1. Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o'er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
[Refrain]
Gloria, in excelsis Deo;
Gloria, in excelsis Deo.
2. Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?
3. Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
---------------------------------------------------------HYMN 2:...."Go, Tell It On the Mountain"
Go, tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is born.
1. While shepherds kept their watching
o'er silent flocks by night,
behold throughout the heavens
there shone a holy light.
Go, tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is born.
2. The shepherds feared and trembled,
when lo! above the earth,
rang out the angel chorus
that hailed the Savior's birth.
Go, tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is born.
3. Down in a lowly manger
the humble Christ was born,
and God sent us salvation
that blessed Christmas morn.
Go, tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is born.
